Long-Term Substitute (Spring 2021)
- Dorothy Moses Elementary - 4th Grade
- Collaborated with Principal, Social Worker, and Counselor to improve behavior and classroom environment
- Taught Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Writing, Art
- Included student on IEP, and low-socioeconomic and diverse population, including African American and Native American backgrounds
- Attended behavioral meeting with parent and PLCs
- During this opportunity, I grew as an educator by learning the importance of empathy, building relationships with students, implementing effective classroom management strategies, and utilizing the resources available to teachers.
Student Teaching (Spring 2020)
- Mr. Jake Larson
- Centennial Elementary - 4th Grade
- Taught Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Writing, and Art; led Reading Groups
- Led classroom without cooperating teacher present for entire day
- Included students with IEPs, low-socioeconomic homes, and diverse backgrounds, including African American and Native American
- Attended IEP meetings, 504 plan meetings, and PLCs
- Throughout this experience, I grew as an educator by building relationships with my students, creating my own lesson plans, and implementing classroom management strategies throughout the day

Block 2 Practicum (Fall 2019)

- Sat in on IEP meeting
- In this practicum, I grew as a teacher by observing effective ways to promote good behaviors, learning how to guide students in improving reading, writing, and math skills, and discovering ways to have a classroom built on inclusion

Block 1 Practicum (Spring 2019)

- Taught Language Arts and Art inclusive with students who had IEPs, low-socioeconomic homes, and diverse backgrounds, including African American, Native American, and Middle Eastern
- In this practicum, I grew as a teacher by learning to balance lessons where students below proficiency received extra guidance without holding those above proficiency back
- I also experienced the positive effect equal opportunity has on learners

Diversity Practicum (Fall 2019)
- I had the opportunity to complete a portion of my Diversity Practicum on the Standing Rock Reservation
- During my time here, I planned, implemented, and lead a basketball camp grades 4-8, consisting of 70 kids total
- This camp included both Fort Yates and Saint Bernard's Mission School students
- I grew an educator through this when I worked to ensure all kids were included in some way, as my goal was to have every student participate in the camp
